Tomorrow is the National Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. Humbled, I think of how blessed I am to live in a country that permits freedom of worship.
As we traveled the road to adoption, and as we continue to wait for Geovany, little things constantly awaken me to the responsibility of being an American citizen. Places I can go, things I can do, endless opportunities to share, all because of where I was born. I wonder, am I using those opportunities or do they slip through my fingers? I wonder what plans God has for my children, those who were born here and those who will claim this country as their own, not by birth, but through the miracle of adoption. And then, I am reminded that my true citizenship is not limited by the borders of this great nation.

The things you list are definitely something to be thankful for. Many of us Americans do take a lot of our freedoms for granted. It was beautiful to read your post, such a lovely reminder of how blessed we are.
