It's so good to look back through the week and think about what we've experienced, both the good and the challenging.
"Hi" Moments
There were several "hi" moments this week. First, my husband returned from Guatemala safe and sound. Everyone was more than thrilled to have Daddy home. When Samantha saw him walk through security at the airport, she literally squealed "My Daddy, My Daddy" and went running to meet him, throwing her little arms around his leg. It was precious and priceless. Thank you for your prayers for us as we lived life without Daddy for 10 days!
Second, I was reminded, through a birthday dress for Samantha, that although God is silent in regards to Geovany's adoption, He has not stopped listening to us. He still hears us and knows the desires of our hearts. A precious friend reminded me this week that silence is one of God's attributes. Not one we dwell on or think about often, but definitely a part of Who God is.
"Lo" Moments
Before the dress, I had several days of being very angry with God. Angry that, while my husband got to go to Guatemala and spend 10 days ministering and sharing, I "got" to stay home and wipe noses, change diapers, manage school schedules and attempt to keep our house running in some semblance of normal. I was also angry that Geovany's adoption has stalled. I believe that God can move the hand of the judge to sign the necessary papers to get our case moving again. What I struggled with, is why God won't. I long for that little boy to be home, in our care, not in the care of an overflowing, understaffed orphanage. Yet, for some reason, God continues to ask us to wait. So, we continue to do that...afterall, what else can we do?!? But how thankful I am that we don't wait without hope. Our faith sustains us and keeps us going, knowing that there will come a day when God will no longer ask us to wait and we will see Him move and bring Geovany home.
Check out the other Hi/Lo posts and then post one of your own. I'd love to hear how your week went!

2 Blessings from friends:
i couldn't stand to see "no blessings from a friend" so i decided to say hello.
i'm so thankful that your husband is home and that you all stayed healthy while he was away. what a blessing!
and as for your waiting. . . consider it a winter advent. waiting and watching. but not the kind of mindless waiting like we do in a drs office, but active waiting as we look to see God's hands in the details.
hope He reveals something special to you today, and that you receive some good news soon about the adoption.
blessings to you friend!
